Westpac Bank

Project Brief

Westpac wanted their most popular online calculator - their personal account chooser - to be updated to match the rest of their website. I was tasked to do the the redesign and re-skin development

Project Information
This was a very complex project and took a team of about 10 people over a year and a half to complete. We had to transfer the back end of the newzealand.com website to Silverstripe and then launch the new site seamlessly for all of the thousands of site visitors and as well as all of the content creators, tourism operators and others working within the website CMS. This was the offical tourism New Zealand website for the country with thousands of visitors from New Zealand and overseas. It had to look and work perfectly. My job along with a team of developers was to copy the original website code and add it onto new Silverstripe modules and make it functional. It was pretty complex and there was a lot of problem solving involved. We had to translate HTML and CSS to PHP, JS and SASS.I learnt how to write good code syntax and be pedantic about writing elegant code. We also worked to a strict SRUM timetable with Jira and Bitbucket to manage pull requests. I feel like I learnt from the best and have applied that to how I work now.
Project Scope
My job was to redesign the MyHub Intranet with a new iPhone aesthetic. I created a Pattern Library for all of the new components and icons to share with the development team. I then wire-framed new user journeys for all of the new modules and general navigation round the app. I redesigned each module that would be used in the app. Then created mock-ups to preview the new designs in Figma. This process was iterative, working alongside the Managing Director and CEO for MyHub. I also liaised with the development team who were tasked with building out the app. Sharing designs and assets with them.
